A section of Kandy - Mahiyangana (A26) road, Sri Lanka has been selected for this project, where 18 hairpin bends (daha ata wanguwa) are located. Within this 14 km road section, over 700 m vertical displacement can be found.
Data (DEM) was taken from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) at 30 m resolution, USGS. I have clipped out the road from SRTM using ArcGIS and then the visualization is done by Aerialod. Labeling was done using Adobe Photoshop.
